ABOUT STONE SOUP PLAYSCHOOL & KINDERGARTEN
by Paula Lynam

I was born and grew up in what is now known as Zimbabwe, where I had the most wonderful childhood I could imagine. We adventured and explored outside a great deal of the time, riding bikes, walking, eating mangoes galore, baking fairy cakes, making jam with my toy cooking things, baking real cakes which my kind hearted brother tasted and endured until I baked cakes which were good enough to call “cake”! I hold the pictures of my childhood close to my heart and with the dedicated help of those at Stone Soup, spend much time creating an environment where children play, explore, stretch and grow in inspiring ways.
Each of us who “work” here, hold dear, our childhood memories, from Dave with his wonderous bike and birthday stories, to Janis who spent a great deal of time exploring outside with her sisters, being bold and courageous., and Shannon and Malika who also spent their childhood outside a lot lot lot! There is a common thread between all of us – I think it is the freedom to explore and learn about our world, coming to our own conclusions about the world and how it works.
That is what we are here for. To gently guide and encourage; observe and be worthy of observing; to hold strong or turn a blind eye if needed; smile, laugh, sing, show up fully, be honest and true, kind and respectful.
What a gift it is for us to spend this time with you and your children.
I am grateful.
